About the event

The Social Canvas Projects is a newly established social enterprise aimed at reimagining the power of the Creative Arts in driving social change by bringing together experts from a diverse range of studies to tackle pressing social issues with an interdisciplinary approach, through project-based collaborations.

In our inaugural project, we are extremely delighted to be joined by 4 well-established experts within their field. From electrifying performances of Gabriel Prokofiev’s ‘Howl! For Clarinet and Electronics’ to Dr. Khabat Abas’ improvisation on her Bombshell Cello, we will then join Dr. Tamsin Alexander and Dr. Franziska Strack into some lively discourse centring the question ‘Where has artists situated themselves in the past in time of political turmoil and how can that inspire us as artists today.’

In light of the world’s inclination to become more and more divided, we sincerely wish that our inaugural project will bring some inspiration to members of the creative arts community and beyond, and inspire more to dedicate their artistic practices to create an impact within our society.
